This blog is short and sweet but VERY important to every employer in the UK.
The UK Court of Appeal has dismissed an appeal against the High Court’s decision that Morrisons Supermarket IS vicariously liable to 5,000 employees for misuse of their personal data by a rogue employee.
This means that even though the employee in question INTENDED to cause damage to the Company, they are still vicariously responsible for the employees action!
Morrissons has indicated they intend to appeal!
